| Abstrakt: |
Infusion of 10-colony-forming units of Staphylococcus aureus strain M into the teat cisterns of 2quarters of 5lactating cows resulted in infection of all quarters infused. A similar infusion into the other 2quarters of each cow which had been infused 6hr. previously with saline did not cause infection, due to the increased numbers of polymorphonuclear cells (from 104/ml. to 107/ml.) present. |
