Abstrakt: Recent work has shown that the prostate glands of rabbit and man, and the dorsolateral prostate1of the rat, contain a very high concentration of zinc (Mawson & Fischer, 1951, 1952). In the rat, the concentration of zinc in the dorsolateral prostate is 10 times greater than that of any other soft tissues (Fischer et al., 1955). Gunn et al. (1955) have reported the uptake of Zn65by the dorsolateral prostate of the rat which is 15 to 20 times more than any other tissues. Autoradiographic studies have shown the localization of Zn65in the cells of prostatic acini and also in the secretion (Mawson & Fischer, 1953 a). As the sex hormones exert profound influence on the accessory genital organs, it seemed to be of interest to study the effect of both male and female sex hormones on the rate of uptake of Zn65by
