Abstrakt: A method is described by which small samples of foetal thyroid tissue of the macaque monkey (Macaca mulatta) are analysed for the various iodine-containing components. The method is based on enzymic hydrolysis of the thyroid tissue homogenate, chromatographic separation of liberated iodinated compounds and their subsequent elution and quantitative estimation. The chromatographic separation and recovery of 127I- and 131I-containing compounds of thyroid tissue approximated 102 and 104%, respectively.Recovery of monoiodotyrosine and diiodotyrosine added to hydrolysed tissue homogenate and subjected to chromatographic separation, elution, and estimation ranged from 93 to 102%.
