Abstrakt: This study was conducted to design a heat exchanger double pipe counter flow as a condenser to produce hot water that can be used for various purpose like a warm bath. Hot fluid flows in copper with cold fluid flowing in the annulus. The hot fluid used is R-22 while the cold fluid used is water. This pipe double heat exchanger is measuring 112.04 cm in length by 29 cm in width and 20.3 cm in height. Inside of pipe using copper with diameter 1/4 inch. And total length of the copper pipe 18.915 m. While on the annular pipe using PVC pipe with 1/2 inch size. The total length of the annulus pipe is 16.128 m. In addition, heat exchanger is used to determined heat released by the condenser, coefficient of performance (COP) of vapor compression cycle, efficiency vapor compression cycle and temperature of the condenser-generated hot water.
