The impact of aging on endocrine systems is often not recognized by the clinician. Knowledge of the underlying pathophysiology of endocrine aging is growing rapidly. This knowledge can already contribute to the clinical management of the age-related problems of blood pressure regulation, carbohydrate tolerance, and thyroid, gonadal, adrenal, and pituitary function common in the elderly. |
