Few options exist for financing dental services among the elderly. Most charges are covered by individuals out-of-pocket. Growing numbers of increasingly dentate elderly will continue to lack sufficient personal resources to meet their dental care needs. Greater public and private sector support for accessible and affordable dental services must be offered in the future to support an adequate level of care and to preserve the oral health gains of the past decades. |
