Abstrakt: This article reviews various manual treatment techniques for the upper extremity with an emphasis on their application to common nerve compression syndromes. Aggressive and carefully focused manipulation that avoids direct pressure on the nerve is applied to alleviate symptoms and circumvent the need for more invasive action. Relevant manipulative treatment approaches are defined independently and directed toward common joint, mus-culoligamentous, and inflammatory disorders. Palpatory assessment also is introduced as a potential adjunctive method to assist with diagnosis and treatment.
