| Abstrakt: | Traditional modes of weaning include T-piece and continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) trials and reduction in synchronized intermittent mandatory ventilation (SIMV) rates. New strategies include the use of pressure support ventilation (PSV) and combinations of PSV and SIMV, PSV and T-piece trials, and the use of flow-by systems. |
