AbstractThe study was designed to evaluate the utilization level of improved rubber management practices among farm settlers in Edo and Delta States. A total of 150 respondents were randomly selected from the three farm settlements. Analytical tools used included percentages and logit regression model. The results of a descriptive statistics indicated that rubber farmers are old and majority of the improved rubber management practices were not utilized. Logit model analysis revealed that education and family size had significant effect on utilization level of improved rubber management practices at 5%. It was recommended that respondents should be encouraged to make use of all the improved rubber practices, and the Government should attract youth to rubber farming. There should be attractive market price and extension activities should be encouraged through better funding. |
