The objective of the study was to determine the fatty acid composition ofOnosmodium hispidissimumMack. seed oil and the stereospecific distribution of ?-linolenic and stearidonic acids in the seed oil triglycerides. The seed oil contained about 20% ?-linolenic acid and about 8% stearidonic acid. About 90% of both ?-linolenic acid and stearidonic acids were esterified to thesn-2 andsn-3 positions. |
