Abstrakt: Streptococcus suis (SS) infection has aroused tremendous attention recently. We report a restaurant worker who suffered acute confusion due to SS meningitis. Sporadic cases have been reported in Hong Kong since 1981. Little was known in the past about its characteristic fulminant clinical deterioration. We explored the literature and discuss the epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations and management of this disease.
