Abstrakt: Medication costs of a decentralized unit dose system and a traditional centralized system were surveyed at the end of a six month period. Drug costs per patient day were decreased by 18.5 percent in the unit dose system. These results supplement other published reports confirming a rational economic basis for decentralized unit dose distribution systems.
