•The efficacy of butylscopolamine (B) in MRI of the prostate is controversial.•The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of B in MRI.•Visualization of gold markers in the prostate were evaluated on MRI.•The B group was statistically superior to the non-B group.•The B will assist the detection of small gold marker and prostate outline. |
