Les infiltrations correspondent à l’injection d’un agent analgésique directement sur le site opératoire sans nécessité d’un repérage nerveux anatomique précis. Le blocage des terminaisons nerveuses distales permet ainsi une analgésie de durée et d’efficacité variables. Ce sont des techniques simples, peu risquées, efficaces et faciles. Leurs indications sont nombreuses, parfois encore incertaines, avec une supériorité indéniable des techniques d’ALR dans certaines chirurgies. Les infiltrations sont un outil fondamental dans le développement de la chirurgie ambulatoire, et il faut savoir trouver, pour chaque patient et chaque chirurgie, la technique la plus adaptée.
