| Abstrakt: | The paper presents the concept of discrete optimal control of lumber drying in chamber kilns. The process of moisture movement in wood is described mathematically as a simplified model with time varying parameters. The estimation of model parameters and state variables is made on-line, with the measurements of drying air parameters and the moisture balance in the chamber being both considered. |
