Abstrakt: When students, required to attain specified performance levels on a module of instruction, failed to pass the posttest, they were given the exact locations in the instructional materials where specific information could be found that, if properly applied, would answer the test items that they had missed. They were not told anything about the missed test items. The students engaged in remedial study, optionally using the locator information provided, until they passed the posttest at the required level. The performance of these subjects was compared with the performance of a similar student population who did not get the specific information locators.
