Abstrakt: Stimuli from Bloomfield's (1979) embedded-target visual search study were used in a series of experiments. The targets differed in color mixture from the nontargets. Target discriminability was measured in several ways: by limiting exposure time, by optical blurring and by introducing neutral density filters. The discriminability measurements were compared to the previously-obtained data in order to discover the best predictor of search performance.
