Abstrakt: |
•More than 68% of the fungal deteriogens isolated from deteriorated sweet orange fruits initiated deterioration in fresh orange fruits.•Forcelet® (FCE) [Carbendazim 50% WP] was the most effective commercial biocide against the isolated fungal deteriogens (p=0.001).•Red Acalypha (A. wilkesiana) leaf extract, a suggested biocontrol alternative, did not show any activity against isolated fungal deteriogens.•Maintaining the integrity of sweet orange fruits especially during harvest, transport and storage is important for reduction of postharvest loss.•Further search for effective biocontrol against fungal deteriogens of sweet orange fruits (Citrus sinensis) is required. |
