Abstrakt: Chemiluminescence measurement by a laboratory-built computer system equipped with an automated injection device is applied to a cholesterol enzymatic assay. The hydrogen peroxide produced by cholesterol esterase and oxidase is mixed rapidly with horseradish peroxidase-luminol solution (pH 10.5) and the light emission data are processed by a Fourier-transform digital filter to produce peak-height measurements. A blood serum volume of 0.2 μl and an observation time of 0.5 s are required.
