Evidence That Line Illusions Originate in the Central Nervous System

Abstrakt: Polarized lenses were employed to present the components of four line illusions separately to each eye. The phenomena were perceived even when both images were disparately presented, leading to the conclusion that the effect originates in the central nervous system and does not require the retina.
