Abstrakt: Quality assurance is a necessary part of nursing services. An overview of quality assurance is presented including structure process and outcome approaches. Each approach is defined and an example given. The steps of conducting a quality assurance program are discussed as well as the concept of peer review. Peer review programs for a population such as occupational health nurses who work independently are presented.
