Two cases of primary sarcoid involvement of the heart are presented, each of which demonstrates an uncommon feature of the disease. In the first, there was clinically significant hemorrhagic pericardial effusion. In the second, there was regression of episodes of ventricular tachycardia, and atrioventricular and intraventricular block, on corticosteroid therapy. The manifestations and treatment of sarcoidosis primarily involving the heart are reviewed and discussed. |
