Abstrakt: The use of an autogenous vein as a bypass graft from the descending thoracic aorta to a posterior left ventricular myocardial tunnel has been combined with internal mammary implantation, epicardiectomy and seropericardiectomy and free omental grafting in a study of total myocardial revascularization. This “quadruple operation” was performed on 35 animals, 20 with triple and 15 with double ameroid coronary artery constriction. In these experiments, animals having undergone operation showed a marked increased survival rate over animals in the control groups.
