abstractThis paper describes the genesis of Sangga Kagay-anon, an organization formed of a coalition of civil society groups in Cagayan de Oro, the capital of the Northern Mindanao region of the Philippines. This account of the group’s creation provides an enlightening example of how an active civil society can work to develop the media and, as a result, the community. |
