Abstrakt: Olanzapine is an atypical antipsychotic that is becoming more widely used in children and adolescents. There have been reports of olanzapine-induced hyperglycemia and hypertriglyceridemia in adults. This case report describes the development of both hyperglycemia and hypertriglyceridemia in a male adolescent that resolved with discontinuation of olanzapine and without dietary changes or the use of insulin or oral hypoglycemics.
