Abstrakt: Since hospitals are the chief suppliers of birth control services to the low-income population of Philadelphia, it seemed desirable to gain a comprehensive picture of the extent to which family planning services were actually being offered and accepted in a hospital setting. Therefore, a study based on an analysis of patient records for the entire year of 1966 was undertaken. Our purpose was to obtain base-line data that would enable us to measure effectiveness of new approaches and to work toward improvement of services.
