1.1. Five pregnant patients were studied, 3 of them with living fetuses and 2 with dead fetuses; they were all treated with estradiol-17β hemisuccinate and with oxytocin.2.2. The oxytocic action of oxytocin before and after administration of estradiol-17β hemisuccinate was investigated, and in all cases, that the estradiol-17β hemisuccinate increased the oxytocic action of oxytocin.3.3. This research shows, once more, the basic importance of the estrogenization of the pregnant human uterus—both in the cases of living and of dead fetuses—before the use of oxytocin in the medical inducation of labor. |
