Rats with congenital hyperbilirubinaemia were dosed with an APC mixture and with aspirin. In one experiment, papillary necrosis was seen 17 days after the commencement of drug administration and was present in 12 of 20 Gunn rats by the 23rd day. Papillary necrosis was absent in 30 control Wistars. In a second experiment papillary necrosis was pressnt in 9 of 10 Gunn rats fed an APC mixture and in 5 of 40 control Gunn rats. |
