Abstrakt: The clinical presentation and echocardiographic findings in a patient with rupture of a noncoronary sinus of Valsalva aneurysm into the right atrium with associated aortic regurgitation are described. Preoperatively, only the right coronary cusp could be visualized by echocardiography. Following surgical repair of the defect, both right and noncoronary cusps were easily seen. It is felt that the inability to demonstrate the noncoronary cusp was caused by the aneurysm pulling the cusp out of alignment with the uninvolved cusps. The echocardiogram appears to be useful in the diagnosis of a rupture of the noncoronary sinus of Valsalva.
