Abstrakt: AbstractElectrochemical behavior of Tolvaptan (TVP), an anti-hyponatremia drug at multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) modified Carbon paste electrode (CPE) has been investigated by cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry. Various analytical parameters viz.scan rate “v” (Nu), accumulation time (tacc), accumulation potential (Uacc), pH have been optimized to develop a simple and economical method for the determination of TVP. The drug undergoes an irreversible two electron-two proton oxidation process under the optimized conditions. The peak current (Ip) was found linearly dependent on the concentration of TVP. The limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) was found 3.81 × 10−8M (±0.005 µM) and 1.27 × 10−7M (±0.005 µM) respectively. The method was successfully applied for the detection of TVP in pharmaceutical preparations and biological samples.
