Abstrakt: Bronchiectasis is usually a segmental rather than a lobar disease process. Surgical therapy should, ideally, remove all the involved segments without sacrificing any normal pulmonary tissue. Refinements and advances in diagnosis, localization, and surgical therapy now make such a goal attainable.
