Abstrakt:	Thirty-six alkaloids isolated either from Catharanthus roseusor C. lanceuswere evaluated for in vitroactivity against vaccinia and polio type III viruses. Nine of these alkaloids were effective as antiviral agents, with pericalline being the most effective.
