A random collection antitumor screening program revealed that the whole flowering plants of Tagetes minutawere significantly active against the Lewis lung carcinoma in vivo. In the present phytochemical examination of this plant, the flavone glycosides quercetagetrin and patuletrin were isolated in addition to the monomethyl ester of fumaric acid and syringic acid. |
