Six fluorine-containing N-substituted benzamides were synthesized, and their physical constants were determined. Their acute toxicity was determined, and LD50values are given. The compounds were screened for anti-inflammatory activity using a modification of the rat-paw edema method. None of the compounds showed activity comparable to hydrocortisone acetate or indomethacin. However, two of the compounds showed sufficient activity to warrant further study. |
