| Abstrakt: |
A method for preparing crystalline pilocarpine methiodide is reported. Pilocarpine hydrochloride is converted to isopilocarpine hydrochloride in good yields by a convenient method. A comparison of the melting points, mixed melting points, and optical rotation data of pilocarpine methiodide and isopilocarpine methiodide show them to be different substances and not interconverted in the synthetic procedure developed. |
