Abstrakt: The influence of posture upon renal function has been studied in normal pregnancy and in pre-eclampsia. The pre-eclamptic patients decreased sodium excretion more when they walked than the normal patients did and the hematocrit increased less. This phenomenon may underlie the favorable response of pre-eclampsia to bed rest.
