Abstrakt: In the text I reflect upon some aspects of the phenomenon of aesthetics and interiority: the inherent tendency to ground, make manifest, materialize the aesthetic dimension of spirituality and the spiritual dimension of aesthetics - thereby creating “places of interiority” as something performative, something which is intrinsically connected with body or matter or both, something exterior, even objects. Finally, a reflection follows about how the aesthetic or artistic dimension of devotion provides us with a language by which we may express and convey spirituality as faith and experience, turning the ineffable into language, or “the untold into speech, the unexplainable into language”, as St Bernardine of Siena put it.
