The hydrodynamic lubrication of involute spur gears is analyzed for an arbitrary point of contact along the line of action. The actual involute tooth shape and squeeze effects are taken into account. Results are presented for the pressure distribution and load capacity. It is found that the maximum load capacity does not occur at the pitch point. |
