Abstrakt: In the past, community learning disability teams (CLDTs) have not been particularly effective in obtaining the views of their users and perhaps even less effective in adapting the service in line with changing needs. The Halstead Learning Disability Team in Essex carried out two surveys in 1992 and 1994. The findings show that clients and carers have very different needs and expectations which present a challenge to CLDTs to identify and redefine their services.
