Abstrakt: Acute gastric dilatation (AGD) is a rare event with diverse aetiologies. AGD may result in acute abdomen. Prompt relief is necessary because the progression of symptoms due to AGD is rapid and the patient may deteriorate rapidly. A 75-year-old woman presented with hypotension, bradycardia, acute abdominal pain and nausea. Abdominal radiograph and oesophagogastroduodenoscopy showed a large gastric dilatation., A nasogastric tube was immediately inserted, and the patient’s condition improved significantly, precluding the need for surgical treatment.
