Abstrakt: This paper presents the Guiana Space Centre, Europe's spaceport (so called CSG) Weather radar system and concept called ROMUALD “Radar d'Observation Météo d'Utilisation Aisée Localement et a Distance”, the Radar, Software and weather watch for the operational CSG Meteorological service. The system is designed with a high efficient Doppler Weather Radar EEC DWSR 2500C combined with a multi-user networked meteorological software environment FROG used for weather analysis and short term forecasting with GSF (presented in a companion paper). This system yields an effective tool for the high risc operational environment at the European ARIANE spacecraft launch support. The development of the system results from a close cooperation between the CSG operational users, the Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales CNES, and the contracted companies having contributed their specific instruments, software and know how.
