Spectral experiments and decay time measurements from 4 to 400 K of Bi4Ge3O12single crystal show some appreciable changes with regard to those described for the activator centers Bi3+. We try to identify the nature of the absorbing centers as well as the emitting centers. We present the first results on the [BiO6]9-cluster by using a semi empirical self consistent charge and configuration molecular orbital theory. |
