Abstrakt: •Northward migrating birds in Canada disperse ticks that may seed new populations.•By stable isotope analysis of migratory birds we estimated potential tick dispersion.•Many tick-carrying, spring migrating birds have destinations far north in Canada.•Migratory birds are likely capable of dispersing ticks long distances across Canada.
