Abstrakt: | An historical review of esophageal voice and the development and refinement of techniques to teach it is presented. Beginning with Raprand's first report of esophageal voice in 1828, this process, which began in Europe, is traced to the United States where responsibility for teaching now rests in the professional domain of speech-language pathologists. |
