On October 16 Dr. Paul W. Oman transferred from the Entomology Research Division of the Agricultural Reaearch Service to the Foreign Research and Technical Programs Division of that agency. In his new position he will serve as Director of the Far Eastern Regional Research Office with headquarters in New Delhi, India. The foreign research program for which he will be responsible is concerned with utilization, marketing, farm and forestry research financed by foreign currencies available to the United States Government under Public Law 480. Dr. Oman's area of operations will include countries of Asia, Egypt, and the Far East where foreign currencies are available under the P. L. 480 program. It is expected that he will undertake his new duties in New Delhi approximately November 20. He can be reached through the Agricultural Attache at the American Embassy in New Delhi. Dr. Oman was president of the Entomological Society of America in 1959. |
