Abstrakt: Community mental health legislation has permitted the development of nonprofit corporations that assume responsibility for supplying mental health care to a defined population. Some corporations provide no direct services but instead contract with providers. The authors describe some of the corporate models that have emerged, the advantages of a corporate structure, and the responsibilities of the program director.
