Abstrakt: The crypt of a developing third molar, seen on radiographs, may be misinterpreted as a primordial cyst or a residual cyst, especially if the crypt is not present bilaterally. The practitioner can reduce the possibility of an erroneous diagnosis if he keeps the age of the patient in mind, places the film to radiograph the entire region, and obtains the patient’s dental history and records.
