Common clinical signs of canine hip dysplasia and differential diagnoses are discussed. Physical examination should include specific manipulations that aid in the diagnosis of coxofemoral laxity, including the Ortolani, Barlow, and Barden maneuvers. Emphasis should be placed on performing a thorough orthopedic and neurologic examination of the patient with suspected canine hip dysplasia prior to performing a radiographic examination. |
