Abstrakt: Persons with sickle cell anemia have an extensive morbidity and frequently die at an early age. In some instances their deaths occur suddenly [1]; such an occurrence in hemoglobin SC disease is rare. This report documents the sudden and unexpected death of a 48-year-old black man whose first symptoms of hemoglobin SC disease were his last.
