Abstrakt: The kinetics of isothermal growth from the melt of a binary solid solution with a miscibility gap is discussed. Diffusion in the crystal is absent and the grown crystal does not decompose afterwards. Possible types of symmetrical phase diagrams for solid and liquid phases have been analyzed for the system involved. The kinetic boundary conditions at a planar interface were formulated and analyzed. It was shown that apart from diffusional and steady-state regimes, oscillatory regimes are also possible in crystal growth. Crystallization in a discontinuous oscillation regime leading to the formation of a lamellar structure with layers parallel to the interface is discussed. The stability of the steady-state crystallization regime was studied and different regions of instability of this regime in a composition-temperature plane were determined.
